This is what I started with. Two Trader Joe's bags. Taped together.
I folded the bags in quarters and rounded the edge. This is what I ended with.
I placed the pattern on top of both my black and zebra pattern fabric and cut it.
Here the fabric is cut.
Here are the strips of fabric that became the sides. I pinned them together on one side and head to the sewing machine.
The strips of fabric for the wall wasn't long enough and I actually had to sew three pieces of each fabric together. I made the mistake of sewing the fabric together in the wrong spot and had to redo it. It's hard to explain but this is what I should have ended up with the first time.
Here is the wall sewn together.
I made sure it fit the base of the bed.
Here the wall is sewn to the base. Now it just needs stuffing.
Here it is all stuffed and ready for a big dog to lay down in it!
Here's a close up of the wall. Nice and high and sturdy. I jam packed it with stuffing!
A shot from above the bed. It's big. This picture doesn't do it justice.
Here's a picture with the measuring tape to verify that it measures over 40 inches wide!
